Four Extraordinary Rolex Daytonas Raise $49.4 Million for Charity

In a landmark night for luxury watches, four one-of-a-kind Rolex Daytonas sold for a combined $49.4 million at a Phillips auction in London, with all proceeds split equally between Roger Federer’s foundation and Leonardo DiCaprio’s environmental charity, Re:wild.

Each watch featured precious metals, vibrant gemstones, diamonds, and extraordinary stone dials inspired by the seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. The standout was the yellow-gold Summer Daytona, which sold for $13.65 million, followed closely by Autumn at $13.52 million, Winter at $13.2 million, and Spring at $9.01 million.

The historic auction was led by renowned auctioneer Aurel Bacs, who guided intense bidding from some of the world’s most exclusive collectors, with celebrities including Federer, DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, and Jon Bon Jovi in attendance.

Beyond their exceptional craftsmanship and rarity, the watches represented something bigger than luxury collecting. By bringing together Rolex, two global icons, and four extraordinary timepieces, the event raised significant funds for education and wildlife conservation.

For Bacs, the auction was a defining moment in watchmaking history—a reminder that when exceptional design meets a meaningful cause, the value of a watch can extend far beyond its price tag.
